Piano Instruction

Lessons are designed to meet the specific needs and goals of each student. This includes a balance of theory, sight-reading, ear training and repertoire appropriate to the student's level of proficiency. There are two options you can choose from when signing up for piano lessons: Rotating Lessons or Private Lessons.

Rotating Lessons - Rotating lesson students follow a lighter course of repertoire. Theory and Technique are primarily done in the studio with the occasional at home assignments. Regular practice is still expected. Rotating lessons are designed generally for students that have had less than 2-3 years of lessons or below Level 3 in their piano studies. Students attend weekly for 60 minutes and rotate between stations. Each student will receive private time with the teacher during that hour. Quarterly group lessons are included and replace the regular lesson for that week.

Private Lessons - Private lessons are 45 or 60 minutes. 30/45 minutes will be Private lesson time, and 15 minutes will be Piano Lab. (Lab will usually take place during another student’s private lesson time). While the standard private lesson is designed for any student, I highly recommend Level 3, Early Intermediate levels and up, Students that participate in Arizona Study Program or Keyboard Gymnastics, Gifted or Students with special needs choose this option. Quarterly group lessons are included and replace the regular lesson for that week.
